Question of the Week

Podcast Question of the Week – Episode 27

This week Caleb poses a question to the listeners about one of his favorite things, politics. It’s tough, deep, and going to be siriusly difficult to answer.

We talked quite a bit about justice in this episode, which is a running theme in this book. How does the acquisition, or gaining of justice, between Buckbeak & Sirius compare with one another? Both are wrongly convicted and go through punishment for that. How are those two similar and how are they different? What is the point of setting those justice themes, juxtaposing them together? Also, what is Rowling trying to accomplish as a writer, for her readers, by articulating that the government isn’t able to correctly bring justice for these two parties that are obviously innocent, but rather the “vigilantes”, Hermione & Harry, are?

Some responses to this question will be read on the next episode of Alohomora!
