Did the delightful Xenophilous fall victim to another Death Eater trap?

Xenophilius mentions that he received the “Erumpent Horn” from a “delightful young wizard who knew of my interest in the exquisite Snorkack.” and that he intended is as an early Christmas surprise for Luna. This reminded us of the moment when Hagrid “wins” Norbert(a) in a drunk game from a disguised Quirrell. Given the similarities in these situations, who do we think the “delightful young wizard” that Xenophilius met, was? Is it a Death Eater trap, or purely a coincidence?
