Hurry Potter

Hurry Potter is a podcast about one boy’s journey experiencing Harry Potter for the very first time! Ten-year-old Hunter reads Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone while listening to the audiobook with his uncle, Patrick, and his grandma, Theresa. Along the way, they have some fantastic conversations about the story and what it’s like growing up in their rural community in the middle of the United States.

Recorded mostly in 2021 during the height of the pandemic, Patrick Musilek put his professional audio engineering skills to the test, creating not only the 14 episodes of the podcast but also an accompanying FULL-LENGTH music album!

The Podcast:

This single-season podcast is for both new and existing fans of the Harry Potter series!

If you grew up with Harry Potter, you’ll probably relate to Patrick’s love of the series and his desire to let his nephew experience the story in the best way possible.

Or, if you have your own kids who are getting ready to experience Harry Potter for the first time, this is the perfect companion podcast for your family. With the exception of the final episode, Hurry Potter contains NO SPOILERS beyond the chapters discussed within each episode. All episodes are clearly labeled to let you know which chapters are discussed at which point.

Even though the central theme is Harry Potter, this podcast also showcases the fun a family can have when they go on a journey together to discover a new world, while at the same time discussing the world they live in and how they fit into it. In between the horrors of trying a random jellybean from a freshly opened box of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans and reading the chapters, sports, video games, school, and much more are also topics of conversation!

The Album

Hurry Potter: The Album is a full-length project made by Patrick and Hunter to accompany the podcast. It features every piece of music made for the show, all of which was written, produced, recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered by Patrick himself and presented in a professional format.

Along with the standard edition of the album (20 tracks), there is also a Deluxe version (46 tracks) available that includes all of the songs from the standard edition, plus instrumental versions as well as some special surprises!

To purchase the digital version of the album or to just listen to the songs, you can do so below or head over to Patrick’s Bandcamp page.

The Videos

All the videos that were recorded for Hurry Potter (including movie watch-alongs, Harry Potter show-and-tell, and even reactions to the album) can be found at Patrick’s YouTube channel.

Thank you so much for looking into this project! We hope you have as much fun as we did while reading the Harry Potter books FOR THE FIRST TIME!
